LIC 101

Overview
Each year CLIC draws attendees interested in learning the basics of planning, implementing and directing Longitudinal Integrated Clerkships (LICs). This workshop is organized specifically for those interested in learning and discussing the basics of LICs. This workshop will be of interest to participants who are expanding LICs especially from pilot phases. Designed as a highly interactive session, attendees will bring their ideas, questions, and challenges to the session and work with others from around the world that have travelled the same path.

Who should attend
Faculty, deans and administrators considering or actively planning a LIC in their school, those who are in the early phases of implementation and all others who wish to engage in a “nuts and bolts” dialog about LICs. We welcome all – from pre-contemplators to those with experience who wish to share and learn together.

Objectives
As a result of participating in this activity learners will:

  • Define the basic principles that guide development of LICs
  • Appreciate the plethora of opportunities in constructing the curriculum for LICs
  • Describe and differentiate longitudinal student assessment models

Using the latest scientific research, the film tells the incredible story of the eight major eruptions that created Mount Gambier — a story that starts in a local school oval and finishes in the sparkling waters of the Blue Lake.
